“Getting old is like climbing a mountain; you get a little out of breath, but the view is much better!” Ingrid Bergman

Ageing is a privilege but growing old with grace is a choice. Your age does not have to define who you are. As ageing is a biological process, certain things are inevitable. But with a healthy lifestyle, positive mindset and a little bit of help, we can look the way we feel.

As we age, collagen and elastin production slows down and we start losing both deep and superficial fat as well as hyaluronic acid. This causes the loss of facial fullness and structure which is associated with a youthful appearance. Dermal fillers can effectively address changes associated with ageing and create natural, subtle results.

Enhance Your Natural Features with Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid provides a hydration boost which supports plump and healthy-looking skin. It is a relatively safe procedure if injected by an experienced cosmetic nurse or doctor and is usually tolerated well. The treatments take about 20-30 minutes depending on how many areas are being treated. The down time is minimal, and you can pretty much return to normal activities straight away. Redness and temporary swelling may occur but subsidises relatively quickly depending on the area treated. When there are needles involved there is of course always a risk of bruising. Even if you have never been bruised before there is always a possibility and occurs when a vessel gets punctured by a needle. There are topical creams as well as tablets that you can use, both prior to treatments and after.

An initial consultation & assessment with an experienced cosmetic nurse and doctor is required prior to your first treatment. This is to ensure that there aren’t any contraindications or any other factors that could affect the treatment as well as discuss your goals and expectations. We will always provide you with honest feedback and together set realistic goals.

They are the most popular fillers due to their superior effectiveness. FAQ's

Will fillers prevent me from ageing? No, you don’t stop ageing as that is a biological process. But we can delay the signs of ageing with cosmetic procedures, a good skincare routine and healthy lifestyle.

Are Dermal Fillers safe? You will always be consulted and treated by an experienced cosmetic nurse. Prior to choosing your injector do your research. Ask questions and ask for qualifications. Go on recommendations. Always have a consultation first and then think about it for a few days. As with any procedure that involves needles there are always some risks involved. Apart from potential swelling and bruising there is also a small chance of side effects such as filler migration, infections, allergic reactions and lumps. All potential risks and side effects will be discussed with you in the consultation process.

When can I return to work? The procedure does not require any recovery time and you can return to work immediately after the treatment. You may experience a bit of swelling after the treatment and bruising might be present.

What should I think of prior to? Avoid blood thinning painkillers such as aspirin or ibuprofen for 48 hours prior to treatment. Do not stop any blood thinning medications that your doctor has prescribed. If you have a history of cold sores there is a risk of them flaring up. Talk to your pharmacist as there are tablets that you can take preventative.

What about aftercare? We advise not to consume and alcohol, perform excessive exercise or expose yourself to extreme heat such as saunas as this can cause swelling. No international or long-haul flights are to be planned 1 week after the procedure as the cabin pressure can affect the fillers. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water will prolong the longevity of your fillers. We advise sleeping on your back on the day of the treatment to minimise the risk of filler migration.

I am turning 18 next month and would like to have some fillers done prior to the party? We don’t treat patients under the age of 18 for any reason. We may ask for ID to identify you.

Can I have fillers done if I am pregnant or breastfeeding? Pregnant or lactating women are not suitable for this treatment and will not be treated.
